Momboss 5K on May 18 in Plymouth Is More Than a Run
While many choose to celebrate their mom on Mother’s Day, there’s another opportunity to champion moms this weekend at a 5K run in Plymouth.
On Sunday, May 18, the Momboss 5K will bring local women runners to Medicine Lake.
Hosted by Covey, a boutique marketing firm, the event offers more than just exercise. It’s also an opportunity for women to network and build supportive relationships.
“It really was born out of a desire to bring women together in community and connection,” said Dre Barthel, owner and creative director at Covey.

The day offers a morning retreat with food, drinks and shopping.
Barthel says connecting women to women-owned businesses helps to energize the community.
“I think that shopping locally is so important, so I decided to add the element of a shopping experience and highlighting anywhere from 18-24 local women artisans to create a really beautiful boutique shopping experience for the woman after the race,” she said.
Covey also offers a $1,000 grant for an entrepreneur that’s pursing a business goal. The three finalists are listed on Covey’s website.
Registration for the event is still open. You can find more details at raceroster.com/events/2025/100622/momboss-5k
