Maple Grove Revisits Townhome Development That Includes Rentals

The Maple Grove Planning Commission will revisit a townhome development at its meeting tonight.

Lennar is proposing 82 townhomes that would be a mixture of rentals and owner-occupied homes. The development, known as Weston Commons 2nd addition, is located between County Road 81 and 105th Avenue. The proposed row townhomes would not have basements due to wetlands to the west. 

Lennar says it has seen demand for rentals of this housing type. Similar townhomes were built to the east as part of the initial Weston Commons development.

At a previous meeting, the Maple Grove Planning Commission raised concern because it didn’t have a precise ratio of rentals versus owner-occupied homes for the development. The project was tabled until tonight’s meeting. You can view Monday night’s commission meeting here.
