Barnett and Hanson Re-Elected to Maple Grove City Council
The race for Maple Grove city council made waves online and in the community. Because of the COVID-19 pandemic, candidates had to get creative with literature dropping, interacting with voters and spreading word on the internet and social media.
Incumbents Kristy Barnett and Judy Hanson both won re-election to the Maple Grove City Council.
This is Barnett’s second term on the city council. She has lived in the city for 16 years, has been an active volunteer in the community, and has a communication and business background. Barnett told CCX News that she supports a common sense approach to making government efficient and cost-effective while delivering high quality services.
Judy Hanson has served on the council for five years, first receiving an appointment to the council in 2015. She’s an assistant city attorney for St. Paul, a Special Olympics coach and volunteer. Hanson told CCX News that her top priorities are top priority and building community trust, businesses that provides good jobs, preserving natural resources, and being an age friendly community.
