Lynde Greenhouse Reopens, Taking Devastating Fire ‘Week by Week’
Lynde Greenhouse and Nursery reopened to the public Wednesday, days after a devastating fire severely damaged a significant portion of the business.
The business still does not have electricity yet so it’s telling customers “cash and carry only,” according to a Facebook post. The company also says it’s taking the situation “week by week” with reduced hours.
On Tuesday evening, police announced that it’s investigating the case as a possible arson. Police also say they have identified five juveniles as “persons of interest.” As of Wednesday afternoon, no arrests had been announced.
While the investigation continues, the Lynde Greenhouse has seen an outpouring of support from the community. On Tuesday, community volunteers and workers from other garden stores showed up to transport thousands of poinsettias so the plants wouldn’t go to waste and could have a home in time for Christmas.
“You showed up early, stayed late, and offered help wherever needed,” read a Facebook post by the company.
