Golden Valley Police Chief to Retire in August
Golden Valley Police Chief Jason Sturgis will retire at the end of August. Sturgis has been with the Golden Valley Police Department since 2004 and was named chief in 2015.
During his time as chief, Sturgis rolled out an officer wellness program. He also helped deliver tools to increase transparency, like a web-based dashboard to track police activity and body cameras.
Sturgis is the third police chief to retire in the northwest suburbs in the past year, joining former New Hope Chief Tim Fournier retiring last September and Plymouth’s Mike Goldstein in January.
