First Phase of Rockford Road Project is Complete
Phase One of the Rockford Road bridge over I-494 project is complete ahead of schedule. The north ramps have been widened, improved, and open to drivers.
The next traffic shift is set for Monday, July 9. All lanes will remain only to traffic, but will be shifted around the central bridge pier.
Phase Two, which involves demolition of the bridge, begins July 12-14. The bridge will be closed for roughly 100 days during Phase 2.
