Driver Faces Criminal Charges in Brooklyn Park Fatal Crash
A driver in Brooklyn Park faces criminal vehicular homicide charges following a single-vehicle crash Saturday night that left one man dead.
Police responded to a vehicle that went off the road and struck a tree shortly after 7:20 p.m. Saturday in the 7000 block of 68th Avenue N.
The crash was severe enough that the Brooklyn Park Fire Department was needed to extricate the two adults in the vehicle from the wreckage. Both were taken to North Memorial Health Hospital in Robbinsdale.
The passenger, identified as Lamont Cunningham, 50, of Minneapolis, died of multiple blunt force injuries, according to the Hennepin County Medical Examiner.
Brooklyn Park police say the driver was being treated for injuries and placed under arrest for criminal vehicular homicide.
