Developer Proposes First-of-its-kind Townhomes for Rent in Maple Grove
A developer wants to build more than 200 townhomes for rent in a growing area of Maple Grove.
The proposed development would be called Summerwell Townhome Rental and it would be located between 105th Avenue North and County Road 81.
A company representative from Greystar Development told the planning commission this week that it would be the first of its kind in the state and it would be “exciting” and “notable.” The proposal stated that the townhomes would be appealing to “renters who desire a larger living space, a private yard, greater access to outdoor activities and a fully amenitized property, with all the ease and low maintenance of renting.”
The townhomes would be 2, 3, or 4 bedrooms and rent would begin at $2,500 a month.
Maple Grove does have a different rental development of detached single family homes called Mills Creek.
The concept stage plan for the Summerwell townhome rental project should go before the city council next week.
