CROSS Needs Donations of School Supplies
CROSS Services in Rogers needs your help filling up backpacks that will go to children headed to school this fall.
CROSS began its school supply drive this week. In just two days, the organization distributed about 250 backpacks. Hailey Buchanan, a volunteer, said the goal is to give away 1,000 backpacks before the school season starts. But to fulfill that goal, CROSS needs more supplies listed on its Facebook page.
“What we’re looking for are wide-ruled college notebooks, folders and combination locks, things like that,” said Buchanan.
The school supply drive at CROSS is ongoing from Monday-Friday. The nonprofit serves families living in Rogers, Maple Grove, Osseo, Champlin (West), Corcoran and Dayton.
To help with the drive, Maple Grove City Council members and the Maple Grove Lions are hosting a school supply drive Saturday, Aug. 8. You can drop off donations at The Lookout Bar & Grill parking lot in Maple Grove from 11 a.m. – 2 p.m.
You can also drop donations off for the month of August at the CROSS location: 12915 Weinand Circle, Rogers, MN.
