Complaint: Crystal Man Drove 76 MPH Above Speed Limit in Fatal Crash
An arrest warrant is out for a Crystal man, who is charged in a deadly crash last fall in Minneapolis, according to a criminal complaint filed this week.
Ke’Juan Gray-Pierce, 21, is charged with two counts of criminal vehicular homicide.
According to the criminal complaint, a passenger in the backseat was killed when the Ford Taurus that Gray-Pierce was driving struck a tree, light pole and concrete box before flipping on its roof.
The crash occurred shortly before 4 a.m. on Oct. 18, 2024 near the intersection of Lowry and Girard avenues north, which is just over a mile from the Robbinsdale border.
The passenger killed was identified as 19-year-old Demarion Wade. The complaint said Wade was sitting in the back seat before the crash. He was found “badly injured” and lying on the ground next to the car. First responders took him to a nearby hospital, where he was pronounced deceased.
Traffic cameras show the vehicle running multiple stop signs and “driving extremely fast,” the complaint said. Data obtained from the Taurus indicates Gray-Pierce was traveling 106 miles per hour in a 30 mile-per-hour zone seconds prior to the crash, the charging documents further revealed.
A passenger in the front seat was able to survive the crash.
The complaint said Gray-Pierce fled the scene and his whereabouts are currently unknown.
