Allina Clinic Opens Inside Brooklyn Park Hy-Vee
Who says Iowa and Minnesota can’t get along? Iowa-based Hy-Vee and Allina Health System of Minneapolis teamed up to offer a same-day health clinic.
Allina now has four Everyday Clinics inside Hy-Vee grocery stores in the Twin Cities, including one in Brooklyn Park that opened Wednesday.
At Everyday Clinics, patients walk in and be seen right away. After that, they can go to a pharmacy connected to the clinic.
Same day care
Everyday Clinics focus on same day care.
“We offer walk-in care for patients with minor medical conditions,” said Kelly Glad of Allina. “We also offer basic services for immunizations or sports physicals. Then they can do some grocery shopping if they have that to do as well”
Everyday Clinics are part of a recent trend in medical care.
“I think patients are looking for a way to be seen without having to go through a lot of phone calls or online searches to find care,” Glad said. “They want to be seen now in a place that’s convenient to them.”
Steady business
Allina debuted an Everyday Clinic at the Robbinsdale Hy-Vee in September. So far business has been steady at that store and other locations.
“The other sites have ramped up really nicely as the fall cold and flu season has hit,” Glad said. “We see anywhere from eight to 12 to 15 patients a day in each location.”
No appointment is necessary. Everyday Clinics are open Monday through Friday from 8 a.m. to 8 p.m. and Saturday and Sunday from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m.
And there are more clinics to come. Allina plans to open an Everyday Clinic in New Hope in February and another in Plymouth in April.
