Osseo’s New City Clerk Tackles Busy Election Season
Natalie Santillo worked in finance and as a deputy city clerk in St. Francis previously, but now she is solely in charge of elections in Osseo as the new city clerk.
“Diving in, head-first, into elections has been challenging, and busy,” said Santillo, who began in early September, about a month before early voting opened ahead of the November 5 general election. “But it’s been a lot of fun and a big learning experience.”
She credits Osseo’s small town charm and welcoming city hall workforce for helping her really get in tune with what she needs to do.
“There’s a sense of a team here, where you don’t see that in bigger cities, sometimes,” she said. “It’s a good team.”
She also said she looks forward to post-election clerk duties and diving in more to grow in those responsibilities.
“That’ll be a big task, come renewal season, for all of the licensing for all of the businesses. I am looking forward to working with all of the business owners in the area with licensing to get to know some of the business owners, too,” said Santillo. “Anybody that works in city government knows that’s it’s a big task to go to a new city, but this city hall team has been incredible.”
