Mayor’s Minutes: Maple Grove’s Mark Steffenson
Maple Grove Mayor Mark Steffenson spoke recently with CCX Media’s Dave Kiser about construction projects happening across the city this summer.
The city recently held a groundbreaking ceremony for the first phase of the Community Center expansion project. Steffenson said the new (third) ice hockey sheet should be ready by fall 2025.
“That’s good–just one (hockey) season away,” he said. “There will be more hockey than ever (at the community center)!”
Steffenson also spoke about construction on the Highway 610 extension over Interstate 94.
“Bridge are getting built across the freeway,” Steffenson said. “The 610 is getting built. It’s finally going to be done and it’s going to be a great alternative route to get on the freeway and get places.”
The mayor also highlighted the on-going work on Boston Scientific‘s new building and its new neighbor, BAE Systems.
“Both of those buildings have sort of just sprung up out of the earth,” he said. “It’ll be great new jobs for our city.”
