Maple Grove City Leaders Seek Community Input
Mayor Mark Steffenson touted the city’s different surveys in the field this spring to gauge residents’ input.
A small group of residents will receive in-depth community surveys, while anyone can participate in a more broad survey online in May.
“It’s very important for us,” Mayor Steffenson told CCX Media’s Dave Kiser. “It gives us a good idea of how our residents feel about the city–what’s changed, what’s not changing, and what are the things we can work on to make the city better? That’s really what we’re looking for, so please respond to the community survey if you’re one of the ones that’s chosen. It’s really helpful for us.”
Valuation Process Changing
As part of this year’s city budget, the city eliminated its own property valuation assessment department, instead going with Hennepin County’s services instead.
Steffenson reminds residents that they can challenge their property valuation assessments directly with the county, as there will no longer be a city-level one-time meeting in order to give residents a chance to be heard.
