Wayzata’s McAndrew Named Mr. Basketball, Player of the Year in Minnesota
Wayzata High School senior Jackson McAndrew took home a couple of big awards in the last 48 hours.
McAndrew won the Mr. Basketball award, given annually since 1975 to the top senior boys basketball player in the state. In addition, he was named the Minnesota Gatorade Player of the Year.
The 6’9” guard/forward averaged 23.6 points and 10.0 rebounds per game for the 29-2 Trojans, state runner-up in Class 4A.
He is the first Wayzata player to win either award.
McAndrew will play next year at Creighton University in Omaha.
