Wayzata Wrestling Beats Park Center in Section 5AAA Semifinals
In a match with plenty of twists and turns, second seed Wayzata beat third seed Park Center 41-26 in the Section 5AAA wrestling semifinals.
The Trojans were then crushed 61-6 by top-ranked St. Michael-Albertville in the championship match.
Wayzata won the first three matches against Park Center to take a 14-0 lead before the Pirates won the next two.
Wayzata built a 31-9 lead with a technical fall and two pins from 139 pounds through 152.
Park Center then scored three straight pins to pull within 31-27 before the Trojans closed it out with two pins at 215 and 285 to secure the win.
