Wayzata Volleyball Wins State Tournament Opener

The Wayzata volleyball team won its state quarterfinal round match Wednesday, sweeping unseeded Burnsville 25-20, 25-20, and 25-18.

Olivia Swenson led the Trojans with 14 kills while Katie Kelzenberg added 10.

The top-seeded and defending state champion Trojans are now 28-4 on the season and play Rogers in the state Class AAAA semifinals Thursday at 9:00 am at the Xcel Energy Center.
