Wayzata Volleyball Wins 4th Straight State Title

The Wayzata volleyball team won its fourth straight state championship Saturday, sweeping New Prague 25-20, 25-23, and 26-24 to win the Class AAAA title.

Olivia Swenson had 14 kills and Katie Kelzenberg 10 to lead the Trojans.

Kelzenberg, Olivia and Stella Swenson, and Bianca Nistor were all named to the all-tournament team.

The win gave the Trojans their second 34-0 record in the past three seasons and a 142-7 record over the past five years.

Wayzata becomes just the second team in Minnesota history to win four consecutive state titles, joining Armstrong who won five straight starting in 1980.
