Wayzata Volleyball Team Advances to State Final
The Wayzata volleyball team advanced to the state class AAA final with a sweep of North St. Paul.
The Trojans won 25-16, 25-22, 27-25.
They rallied from a 24-19 deficit in the third set to stun the Polars.
Elizabeth Helmich had 16 kills to lead Wayzata.
Olivia Johnson had 34 set assists for the Trojans.
Ella Voegele had 16 digs and Sophie Jesewitz 15 for the Trojans.
Second seed Wayzata faces top seed Eagan for the title Saturday at 5:00 p.m. at the Xcel Center.
