Wayzata Volleyball Sweeps Edina at State
The Wayzata volleyball team swept Edina in the quarterfinals of the state Class AAAA tournament Wednesday afternoon.
The Trojans beat the Hornets 25-17, 25-27, and 25-16. Wayzata has won 40 straight sets, going back to late September.
Olivia Swenson led the Trojans with 13 kills while Reilly Kurth had 7.
Stella Swenson recorded 32 set assists, five kills, and three ace serves.
Wayzata (32-0), going for their fourth straight state championship, now faces Anoka (27-3) in the semifinals Thursday at 9:00 am at the Xcel Energy Center.
