Wayzata Legion Baseball Splits First Two Games at State
The Wayzata American Legion baseball team split its first two games Thursday at the state tournament in Rochester.
The Wizards beat Sartell 5-3 in their first game before losing 9-6 to Hastings Thursday afternoon.
*UPDATE*:
Wayzata beat Duluth 3-1 Friday morning in the final game of pool play.
There was a three-way tie with teams posting 2-1 records in their pool.
Wayzata and Sartell won tiebreakers to advance to bracket play quarterfinals.
Wayzata meets Foley Saturday afternoon at 1:00 p.m.
The tournament championship is scheduled for Sunday afternoon.
