Wayzata Legion Baseball Heads to State Tournament
The Wayzata American Legion Baseball team secured their first trip to the Legion State Tournament since 2018 when they swept through the Sub-State 11 tournament, going a perfect 4-0.
The Wizards came into the Sub-State tournament with a near .500 record, in large part due to their tough regular season schedule which included several trips on the road.
In late June, Wayzata travelled to Omaha and competed in the Creighton Prep tournament. Wayzata also played in tournaments in Delano, Moorhead, and the Gopher Classic.
With all the traveling, the Wizards only had four practices all summer leading into the Legion State Tournament.
The Wizards will open the state tournament on Thursday at 10:30 AM in Rochester against Sartell.
