Wayzata Girls Basketball Cruises Past Eden Prairie
The Wayzata girls basketball team used a balanced scoring effort to get a big Lake Conference win over Eden Prairie, 75-48.
The Trojans had seven players that scored eight or more points with four players– Allie Berns (14 points), Sophie Hawkinson (12), Kate Amelotte (11), and Maren Day (10) all scoring in double figures.
Wayzata went back-and-forth with the Eagles in the first ten minutes of the game, but then ran away from Eden Prairie with several points scored off transition and fast-break opportunities.
The Trojans (12-3) jumped up two spots to number four in the latest class AAAA Minnesota Basketball News top 20 poll.
Up next is another conference opponent when the Trojans host Edina on Friday.
