Wayzata Boys Hockey Pulls Away to Beat Edina in Section 6AA Semifinals
The Wayzata boys hockey team pulled away with four goals in the third period to beat Edina 8-2 in the Section 6AA semifinals Saturday.
Edina started the game on a good note, scoring just 26-seconds into the game.
Wayzata’s Dylan Lewis quickly answered with a deflection goal just over two minutes into the first period, and the game remained tied 1-1 after one period.
The Trojans scored three times in the second to build a 4-2 lead through two periods.
They tacked on four more in the last eight plus minutes to breeze to the win.
Jake Schneider had two goals and three assists and Lewis added two goals and two assists for Wayzata.
The Trojans host Benilde-St. Margaret’s for the Section 6AA title Wednesday at Plymouth Ice Center in a game you can see live on CCX channels 799/12 and www.ccxmedia.org
