Wayzata Boys Basketball Beats Hopkins for 21st Win
The second-ranked Wayzata boys basketball team beat Hopkins for the second time this season, beating the sixth-ranked Royals 94-79 on Tuesday.
The Trojans led by three points at halftime and outscored the Royals 32-18 to close the game to earn their 21st win of the season.
Christian Wiggins scored 24 points to lead Wayzata with Nolen Anderson adding 22.
Xavier Frelix led Hopkins (16-7) in scoring with 26 points while Tre Moore netted 18 and Jayden Moore 16.
Wayzata’s bench players outscored Hopkins 28-7.
The teams could meet again in March in the Section 6AAAA tournament.
