Totino-Grace Wrestling Edged by Perham in State Consolation Match
After being overwhelmed by second seed New Ulm in the state class AA team quarterfinals, the Totino-Grace wrestling team lost a close 33-27 battle to Perham in the consolation semifinals.
Perham built a 27-17 lead, but a major decision for Payton Herbst at 189 pounds and a pin for Joe Kruse at 215 for Totino-Grace tied the match at 27-27.
Perham heavyweight Eli Roiko pinned the Eagles’ Fua Taumalolo to earn the win for the Yellowjackets.
The state team tournament in each class wraps up Thursday, with individual competition running through Saturday.
