Local Wrestlers Place at State Tournament
No wrestlers from the CCX viewing area in the northwest suburbs won championships this year at the state wrestling tournament, but several did place high.
Osseo’s Vivian Schroeder finished second in the girls 142-pound class, getting pinned by three-time champion Cassandra Gonzales of Apple Valley in the final.
Maple Grove’s Connor Peterson (133 pounds) and Ben Schultz (215) each took third place in class AAA.
Cooper’s Folake Olusesi placed fourth in the girls 190-pound division.
Maple Grove’s Carol Stevenson was sixth in the girls 155-pound division.
Totino-Grace had three place-winners in class AA: Payton Herbst (4th at 160), Austin Herbst (6th at 139) and Logan Refsnider (5th at 133).
