Totino-Grace Football Edges Champlin Park
In a matchup of 2-2 football teams, Totino-Grace beat Champlin Park 29-21 Friday night.
The Eagles took a 14-0 lead in the first quarter on Kristoff Kowalkowski touchdown passes to Hunter Karlson and Sam Fretheim.
Champlin Park responded with an 82-yard touchdown strike from Cade Fitzgerald to Edmund Ocansey to pull within 14-7 after one.
Champlin Park scored with 33 seconds left in the first half on a Fitzgerald pass to Evan Hammonds to tie the score at 14-14.
Karlson returned the ensuing kickoff 85 yards for a touchdown to put the Eagles back in front 21-14.
Karlson and Ocansey each scored on short receptions in the fourth quarter, with Totino-grace hanging on for the win.
The Eagles are now 3-2 and the Rebels 2-3.
Totino-Grace hosts Cretin-Derham Hall and Champlin Park hosts Maple Grove as the regular season wraps up Wednesday.
