Sydney Drevlow of Hopkins Wins State Nordic Ski Title
Hopkins freshman Sydney Drevlow wrapped up a great season by winning the state girls Nordic ski pursuit title.
Drevlow passed familiar rival Maggie Wagner of Edina in the freestyle race after Wagner had won the classic race to start the meet.
Drevlow’s winning time was 33:40.7.
Molly Moening of St. Paul Highland Park was denied a third state title; she placed third behind Drevlow and Wagner.
Elsa Bergman of Hopkins (13th) and Audrey Parham of Wayzata (16th) were other local skiers in the top 20 in the girls pursuit.
Hopkins placed 7th and Maple Grove 16th in the girls team competition.
The Wayzata boys team placed third behind Minneapolis Southwest and Duluth East.
Armstrong was 8th, Maple Grove 14th and Champlin Park 15th in the boys team standings.
Daniel McCollor of Wayzata was the top local finisher in the boys pursuit, placing fourth.
Cooper Camp of Minneapolis Southwest was the boys pursuit winner.
