State Track Day 1
The state track and field meet is under way at Hamline University.
Day one of the class AA meet featured some good performances by athletes from the northwest suburbs.
The boys triple jump featured three placewinners from the area.
Edmund Ocansey of Champlin Park placed second, Joe Fahnbulleh of Hopkins third, and Nick Hedlund of Wayzata fifth.
Madison Johnson of Benilde-St. Margaret’s placed second in the girls high jump with Armstrong’s Julia Rowles third.
The bulk of the finals are Saturday.
