Section 5AAA Cross Country Highlights
Several runners from the northwest suburbs advanced to the state cross country meet as individuals after qualifying at the Section 5AAA meet.
Mounds View and Roseville finished first and second in the boys and girls meets to claim the team spots at state.
Cade Sanvik of Osseo placed third to lead the local boys qualifiers, with Gannon Farrens of Maple Grove right behind him in fourth to advance.
Also qualifying from the northwest metro: Charles Hibbs and Ethan Ibarra of Champlin Park and Quinlan Rundquist of Osseo.
Mounds View’s Elliott McArthur was boys individual champion.
Abby Hibbs of Champlin Park was third and April Watson of Maple Grove fourth to lead the local girls state qualifiers.
Also advancing: Jules Davis of Osseo, Brigid Keran of Champlin Park, and Kelsey Young and Mackenzie Laux of Maple Grove.
Linnea Ousdigian of Mounds View was the individual girls winner.
The state meet is next Saturday in Northfield.
