Section 5AA Cross Country Meet Features Local State Qualifiers
The Section 5AA cross country meet featured a number of local state qualifiers.
The Maple Grove boys finished second as a team behind Mounds View to advance to the state meet.
Mackinon Mokoro of Osseo placed fourth to qualify, along with Connor Preston (fifth) and Dontae Johnson (11th) of Champlin Park.
Charlie Caven (sixth) was the top Maple Grove runner. C.J. Young (tenth) also cracked the top ten for the Crimson.
No girls teams from our area made state; St. Michael-Albertville and Mounds View claimed the state berths.
Individually, Maple Grove’s Lindsey Young (fifth) leads the qualifiers.
Osseo’s Lex Davis (sixth) and Jules Davis (ninth) advanced.
Emilie Meyer of Totino-Grace and Abby Hibbs of Champlin Park also qualified for the state meet.
