Sean Lumpkin’s Jersey Retired at BSM
It was a big day Saturday for 1987 Benilde-St. Margaret’s alum Sean Lumpkin.
The one-time all-state football player for the Red Knights had his # 34 jersey retired at halftime of the BSM homecoming football game.
Lumpkin went on to play defensive back at the University of Minnesota where he was 1st team All-Big Ten as a senior and also played in the NFL for the New Orleans Saints.
The Golden Valley native has served as a volunteer coach and on the school’s Board of Directors at Benilde-St. Margaret’s and various committees.
Lumpkin’s son Xavier is one of the team’s captains this season.
