Providence Girls Basketball Aiming for 3rd Straight State Title
The Providence Academy girls basketball team is hoping to make history by becoming only the fifth program in MSHSL girls basketball history to win three consecutive state championships.
The Lions can achieve that feat– if they can win the Class AA state title in March.
Before that, Providence Academy will have another very difficult regular season schedule that features seven Class AAAA opponents.
The Lions are led by star sophomore guard Maddyn Greenway, who became the fastest girls basketball player in state history to reach the 2,000 point milestone last year.
Providence Academy has several solid players around Greenway though, including Hope Counts, Emma Millerbernd, Ari Peterson, and Brooke Hohenecker.
The Lions are off to a 4-0 start to the season and are averaging 89 points per game.
