Providence Academy got a challenge from fourth seed Maranatha Christian Academy in the Section 5AA girls basketball semifinals—for awhile.
Maranatha led for much of the first half behind five three-pointers from Heather Sheehy before Providence surged to lead 43-35 at the half.
Providence pulled away down the stretch to win 94-67 to stay undefeated.
Emma Millerbernd scored a game-high 34 points for the Lions and in the process surpassed 1,000 career points.
Maddyn Greenway had a slow start shooting but wound up with 30 points, 10 rebounds, 10 assists, and five steals for Providence.
Sheehy had 20 to lead four Mustangs in double figures.
Providence Academy meets Jordan for the section title Friday at Augsburg University.
