The Hopkins football team is looking to take a step forward this fall after a tough 2021 season.
The Royals didn’t win a game last fall.
Second year head coach Trevor Tolly hopes the experience young players gained last fall will have them ready to go this season.
The Royals are thin on numbers but do have some talent.
They’ll build around returning veterans Jai Kalvik, a big and talented offensive tackle; wide receiver/safety Rhys Vagle, and wide receiver/linebacker Charlie Shaw.
Hopkins does not get an easy opener: they play at Prior Lake Thursday.
