Prep Football Training Camp Report: Armstrong Falcons
Our first prep football training camp report previewing teams in the northwest suburbs features the Armstrong Falcons.
Armstrong reached the state class AAAAA playoffs last fall, losing to Rogers in the quarterfinals. It was the first state appearance since 2003 for Armstrong.
They return five starters on each side of the ball this season, with most of the offensive and defensive lines back.
They will have to replace three-year starter at quarterback Jamen Malone, who graduated.
Langden College, a University of North Dakota recruit, leads the defensive returners. College had a great season as a defensive end last fall and will play some linebacker, too.
Seth Newbern is battling back from an injury but should be a playmaker at wide receiver; Luke Pappas is a third-year starter on the offensive line despite being a junior.
Armstrong’s schedule is almost completely new teams this fall, starting with St. Francis August 31st.
