Park Center’s Casmir Chavis Recognized as Mr. Basketball Award Finalist
After averaging 23.5 points per game in his senior season and leading the Park Center boys basketball team to their third consecutive state tournament appearance, it’s no surprise that Park Center point guard Casmir Chavis was named a Mr. Basketball award finalist.
Chavis accepted his award in front of family and friends on Tuesday at Park Center High School.
Chavis announced on social media Wednesday that he’s been released from his NLI commitment to the University of Washington and is decommitting from the Huskies. He now opens his recruitment back up.
Wayzata’s Jackson McAndrew won the Mr. Basketball award and was also named Minnesota’s Gatorade Player of the Year.
