Park Center Softball Glad to Be Back
The Park Center softball players and coaches are glad to be back together.
The Pirates and all Minnesota teams missed out on having a season in 2020 due to COVID-19.
The Pirates are an example of a program that lost momentum due to the shutdown.
Last spring 41 players signed up for softball but only 19 came out this spring.
So Park Center will field only a varsity team, where most teams in the Northwest Suburban Conference have 3 or 4 levels of play.
Park Center lost its season opener 15-13 to Osseo last Friday.
The Pirates are now in class AAA, the second largest class, for the postseason. That should give them a better chance to compete at playoff time.
