Park Center Girls Basketball Falls to Chaska
The Park Center girls basketball team lost 67-36 to defending state class AAAA champion Chaska Tuesday.
It was an opening round game at the Park Center Holiday Showcase tournament.
The Hawks jumped out to early 7-0 and 13-2 leads to set the tone for the game.
Gophers’ recruit Mallory Heyer scored 19 points in the first half and 24 total for the Hawks.
Kennedy Sanders scored 23 points for Chaska.
Vanessa Saidu had 11 to lead Park Center.
The Pirates won’t get to play a second game in their tournament as their scheduled opponent, Hopkins, had to withdraw due to COVID cases with the team.
