Park Center Girls Basketball Advances to Section 5AAAA Final
The Park Center girls basketball team built a big halftime lead, then held on to beat Irondale 49-47 in the Section 5AAAA semifinals.
The Pirates went up 41-20 at the halftime break but scored just eight points in the second half and had to hold on for a two-point win.
Lyric Singleton had 21 points and Harmoni Mayberry 14 to lead the Pirates.
Sixth seed Park Center now meets top seed Maple Grove Thursday at 6:00 at Maple Grove High School in the section final.
