Park Center Boys Basketball team Honored by Cities of Brooklyn Park, Brooklyn Center
It was a night to celebrate. The state champion Park Center boys’ basketball team was honored by the City of Brooklyn Park Monday night in a ceremony during the Brooklyn Park City Council meeting.
Mayor Lisa Jacobson read a proclamation making April 11th a “Day of Celebration for Park Center High School’s Boys’ 4A State Basketball Champions in the City of Brooklyn Park.”
Players, coaches and team’s cheerleaders were recognized at the meeting.
It was a busy evening for the Pirates. Following the ceremony in Brooklyn Park the team traveled to the Brooklyn Center City Hall where a proclamation was also read declaring April 11th as “Park Center High School Boys Basketball Team Day.”
The Pirates finished the season with a school record 31 games in winning the program’s first state championship in a title game victory over Wayzata last month.
