Park Center Boys Basketball Team Advances to Section Final
The Park Center boys basketball team advanced to the Section 5AAAA final with a 60-39 win over Mounds View.
The Pirates were sharp early and jumped out to a 17-5 lead.
Mounds View fought back to within 29-25 at halftime, with sophomore Dylan Wheeler scoring 13 first-half points.
Park Center pulled away with a strong defensive showing in the second half.
Dain Dainja scored 17 points to lead the Pirates.
David Ijadimbola added 14, with Detavius Frierson scoring 12 and Joshua Brown 11 for Park Center.
The top-seeded Pirates meet number two seed Spring Lake Park in the section final Friday night at Rogers High School.
Park Center won both regular season meetings against the Panthers.
