Park Center Boys Basketball Edges Maple Grove for Section 5AAAA Title
Top seed Park Center made some clutch plays down the stretch, holding off an upset bid from Maple Grove for a 63-58 win in the Section 5AAAA boys basketball championship game. It’s the third straight section title for Park Center.
After Park Center dominated early to lead 16-4, Maple Grove battled back to within four at halftime.
The Crimson surged into the lead and still were up by four with about two minutes to play. Park Center got clutch baskets from Casmir Chavis and Chiang Ring to re-take the lead on the way to the win.
Chavis had a game-high 25 to lead the Pirates back to state. Ring added 14. Henry Stang had 21 to lead Maple Grove.

The Pirates meet Eagan in the state quarterfinals Wednesday at 2:00 pm.
