Paige Bueckers Returns to Minnesota
It was a homecoming Wednesday for Paige Bueckers. The 2020 Hopkins High School graduate made her Minnesota professional women’s basketball debut as a member of the Dallas Wings.
Before family and friends and a sold-out Target Center crowd, Bueckers scored 12 points and dished out 10 assists in an 85-81 loss to the Minnesota Lynx.
Bueckers played in the arena as a high school player at Hopkins, a college player at Connecticut and now as a professional.
The rookie is averaging nearly 14 points and seven assists in her first three games with the Wings.
Bueckers was the number one overall draft pick in last month’s WNBA draft, coming on the heels of a national championship in her senior season at UConn.
