Northwest Suburban Conference Cross Country Highlights
The girls and boys races each featured close finishes at the Northwest Suburban Conference cross country championship meet at Elk River Golf Club.
Rogers sophomore Cara Back held off Champlin Park senior Abby Hibbs to win the girls race in 18:43.9.
The boys race was even tighter as Aaron Peterson of Anoka edged Lachlan Demmer of Coon Rapids by three-tenths of a second in a time of 16:06.1.
Maple Grove won the girls team title in their final season in the conference before joining the Lake Conference.
Blaine was boys team champ with Champlin Park second and Maple Grove third.
