New Tennis Courts Coming to Brooklyn Center High School
Construction is underway now to re-build the eight tennis courts at Brooklyn Center High School.
The courts have been unsafe to use for three years now as the high school boys and girls tennis teams have had to move off-site to practice and play home matches. The courts were last re-done in the 1990s.
A large portion of the 680,000 dollar project is funded through a Hennepin County Youth Sports grant.
Four of the eight courts will be multi-purpose “sport court” surfaces, which will also be used for pickleball and volleyball, among other sports.
The project is expected to be completed in mid-July.
