Maranatha Girls Basketball Rolls in State Opener
The Maranatha Christian Academy girls basketball team cruised to an 85-49 win over Mesabi East in the quarterfinals of the state class AA tournament Wednesday at Williams Arena. The Mustangs had a 38-28 halftime lead and dominated the second half on the way to the victory. Jaclyn Jarnot had 12 points and 15 rebounds for Maranatha, with Macy Smith also scoring 12 points for the Mustangs. Maranatha now plays Roseau in the semifinals Friday night.
