Maranatha Edges Breck in Girls Basketball Thriller
The Maranatha Christian Academy and Breck girls basketball teams are having strong seasons.
Their game Friday lived up to expectations.
Maranatha had a 13-point halftime lead and led for most of the night, but they needed a late rally to win 74-72.
Chloe Jarnot hit the go-ahead three-pointer with about 40-seconds left after Maliyah White rebounded a missed free throw for MCA.
Maranatha had to overcome a stunning 40-point performance from Breck 8th grader Kendall McGee.
McGee led the charge as her Mustangs surged into the lead in the final minutes before Jarnot’s shot earned MCA the win.
Maranatha is now 8-1 heading into a tough test Monday night against unbeaten Providence Academy.
Breck fell to 7-3.
