Maple Grove Wins Preview Boys Golf Tournament
The Maple Grove boys golf team won the 18-team Preview golf tournament Saturday, finishing seven shots ahead of runner-up Totino-Grace.
The Crimson came into Saturday’s second round in third place behind Totino and Cretin-Derham Hall but beat both teams by 15 shots in the final round, shooting 295 as a team.
Crimson junior Ryan Stendahl shot matching rounds of 72 to tie for second place in the tournament.
Maple Grove’s Kagan Kollar shot a second round 71 to finish seventh overall while Jack Schrader and Blake Forrest both placed in the top 17.
Andrew Ramos of Totino-Grace shot rounds of 71 and 75 to lead the Eagles and tie for fifth place individually.
Other local teams at The Preview included Benilde-St. Margaret’s (9th place) and Wayzata (18th).
Sam Udovich of Cretin-Derham Hall was the tournament’s medalist, shooting rounds of 72 and 70.
